David Joy joins Prospects4Sport
We are delighted to announce that David Joy, who has been involved in the development of sport at the highest level in a wide variety of roles, has now joined the Prospects4Sport team.
David's career has included highly successful spells as Development Officer and then Deputy Director for English Volleyball, Director of Team Scotland (leading an exciting national initiative to develop innovative and successful youth strategies within 13 Scottish governing bodies of sport), Head of Operations within Sports Coach UK, and Chief Executive of Scottish Athletics - leading a modernisation process which resulted in fundamental improvement in all areas of the sport.
Since June 2005 he has been the Director of Derbyshire Sport - the county sports partnership in Derbyshire, following 18 months with Sport England West Midlands as Head of Policy and Strategy. Derbyshire Sport is one of the larger and more established county sports partnerships and David now manages team of twenty staff who work with the many partners who make up the partnership, to deliver the participation and performance targets within the county sport and active recreation plan.
His current employer, Derbyshire County Council, has agreed for him to work for up to 15 days as an Associate for Prospects4Sport as part of his continuous professional development.
David will be working with us on a variety of projects adding skills, experience and insight to the team.
