The Future for Sport in Further Education

People working in FE have seen many changes in structures, funding and resources over the years. With curriculum reform, further funding changes and increasing pressure to perform, how can sport position itself within the sector?  Prospects4Sport have been commissioned by the Association of Colleges and Sport England to undertake a major new study into the future of sport in FE, looking at the roles of funding agencies, the impact of sport on strategic objectives, and what are the determining factors in increasing participation.

We will be talking to colleges up and down the country over the next 4 months and the project will also include 5 regional workshops to explore the relationship between levels of participation and factors such as facilities, size of college, type of college, partnerships, and curriculum issues.  At the workshops participants will also be helping to shape the recommendations for the future structures and funding into sport within FE.
