FESCo Legacy Project

Prospects4Sport is currently assisting the Youth Sport Trust (YST) and Association of Colleges (AoC) to prepare material for an advocacy document which will provide evidence to help support the continuation of the FE Sports  Co-ordinator (FESCo) function within Colleges once national funding for the position ends in August 2011.

The advocacy document will showcase the positive impact that the FESCo work has had in developing sport within FE Colleges. Around 20 case studies from across the regions will illustrate what FESCo's have achieved and how their work has benefitted individual students and contributed to wider college outcomes such as recruitment, retention and achievement.

 The project also includes identification of potential models for how Colleges could retaining the sports development function within their Colleges into the future.

 This project will be linked to the new governance structure for FE Sport, including the review of British Colleges Sport currently being undertaken by P4S.
